At Love Acts, we seek to help our brothers and sisters in the homeless community "with actions and in truth" by meeting them at their point of spiritual, physical, and financial need.
Some of the stories of our volunteers and those we have met:

I lived outside for over ten years. If not for you all at Love Acts, others and the Love of God, none of this good stuff would have ever happened. I was encouraged to start over. I'm different now, don't get mad anymore, I feel kinder towards people, before I did not tolerate anything or anybody, today I'm closer to God than I've ever been. It is little things that make a big difference in my life. Like just being a friend, I can talk to, studying the bible, bus passes, help with my phone so I can take care of business. They even got me a washer and dryer after I got into housing. I'm disabled with no income. Now I'm working towards getting my disability case settled. I volunteer with Love Acts and JPS and am on the JPS community council. I'm grateful that they showed me Love and made me fell like I mattered. I don't know why but they did.
I didn't feel like I deserved it, I was just tired and could not live that way anymore. I prayed and God sent people who would help me. Now I volunteer every week and help lead others down a path to God and change.

Hello, my name is Brian Gildon. I've beenI had been addicted to drugs and alcohol for over 35 years and had spent 20 plus years on and off the street. In the beginning of 2020 I transitioned from living in the Liberty House Veterans shelter and now live in my Apartment on the West Side of town. Prior I had been in an outpatient rehabilitation program lived at Liberty House and worked for the VA Hospital in Fort Worth. I have been involved in the Love Acts Life Change Through Christ CASA group since March 2019. I now am a Co Facilitator for the Tuesday night Flag building group, chair meetings and lead discussions plus attend meetings and give testimony at True Worth Place. In the future I will facilitate a Love Acts group located on the West Side of Fort worth near the Las Vegas Trail area.
I am a believer and came to know Jesus Christ and accept the gift of salvation in 2013 but was not able to turn my life around till more recently. I meet Tony Grant March of 2019 at Unity Park one morning and he invited me to come to a Christian recovery class at the Flag building. Tony is now my friend, brother in Christ and mentor. I intend to continue to chair Love Acts recovery meetings and share my journey in order to help others know Jesus Christ.

My time serving with Love Acts as a staffer for outreach events and for our 4 weekly Live Change Through Christ meetings has really moved me forward in live. Thorugh my service, I am putting smiles on the faces of those who are experiencing homelessness because I am one of them as well, and it has encouraged me to pull out all the stops to provide the best service that I can manage. Also, it has put me in a position to meet up with other service providers in the homeless community and serve on an advisory council that works to come up with ideas to improve conditions and services for the homeless in Tarrant County. Two years ago, I was battling depression and was just coming out from a very low place in life; now I am very upbeat about life, and while I have met with some heartbreak and setbacks in my life, working with the programs of Love Acts has kept me occupied to the point that I don't have time to marinate in misery, but instead I canlearn while I serve at our functions and I can think with a mostly clear and positive mind. Plus, working in the environments that we serve in can be a challenge; to meet the challenges in a positive way is uplifting and empowering. All glory be to the Lord above...he makes it happen!

Love Acts ministry takes great interest in others' lives. The action of this ministry are intentional. The process and aim of the ministry are to achieve a new regeneration of a woman or man's soul, mind and heart. To rise above the grooming, we received as developing occurred in each of our lives.
As a volunteer I assure you we could all use an authentic and unmasking reigorous inventory of our natures and conduct. Love Acts acts, with no condemination, as a safe place to share their own stories of how broken we all are and to provide a place of acceptance when the world says you just don't fit in or belong. We speak Truth and Grace as was Christ's greatest message as well as the good news.
Brokenness is not a disease nor a failure. It is the fallen condition of our world, only more visible to those who might desire to see they are worthy of love and respect. The mind can be healed and change manifested one life at a time and offering that hope is to births beauty and goodness we all want to be a part of. We are the hand and voice of Christ to bring Grace to God's Glory to His Honor. Each volunteer brings different gifts and talents and working with another grows and teaches us more of God's nature in each encounter we experience.

15 years ago, I was homeless and hopelessly additced to drugs. God interceded for me, he workd through people to get me through it. I believe and support Love Acts and Tony Grant because they are dedicated to rehabilitation to help people experiencing homelessness.
Yes, they provide food and coffee, they use this as a tool to invite people to the recovery groups they fund. Tony realizes the only way to help the people is through cleaning up the core reason that many became homeless. I have witnessed him many times spending Saturdays and Tuesdays every single week ministering to people and encouraging them. I will continue to stand by and support this organization because of the God centered approach they take to help the people experiencing homelessness in this city.

My husband and I met Tony one Saturday that was our first voluntary event with the homeless. We were so taken back by the love and compassion of these Love Acts volunteers, and how much the homeless folks cared for and respected Tony. So we volunteered with Love Acts for several months and what I saw and felt that first day just grew. His love and dedication just exploded in that homeless community! We were honored to have facilitated a CASA class for 4 months and also to volunteer with Love Acts. It was a great privilege to be a very small part of the Love Acts team. Many souls are touched for Jesus by this ministry.
